The
Neon Tetra, or Blue Neon Tetra, is probably the most popular
tropical fish today. And for good reason, they are hearty and
very attractive in any community aquarium. You can find a neon
tetra in almost any fish supply store. The females are usually a
little fatter and the blue line will not be as straight. The
blue neon tetra likes to be kept in groups of six or more in an
aquarium with some plants. Make sure to do regular water changes
and you'll have a lot of success with this peaceful fish.
Neon
Tetra
Breeding: Use a larger
aquarium and keep the temperature about 75F. The PH should be
about 5-6. Reduce the lighting by adding floating plants and put
some moss, or fake moss, on the floor of the aquarium. After
they lay the eggs the adults should be removed and the eggs
should hatch in about a day. Feed the newly hatched fish
regularly.
