The
Jack Dempsey Cichlid fish is definitely for a species only
aquarium. They are not very tolerant of many things. Make sure
to have a lot of caves and plenty of space for this destructive
fish. The Jack Dempsey will eat any plants that may be in its
way so it's best to use plastic or just stick with wood and
rocks for tank decoration. The aquarium should have good
filtration and regular water changes.

Cichlid
Breeding: The Jack Dempsey willingly
pairs off and are fairly easy to breed. The female will lay the
eggs on the larger rocks and they pair will share the parenting
duties until the fry are large enough to care for themselves.
