Emperor Tetra

The Emperor Tetra is a great fish for a community aquarium. If you keep them with other peaceful tropical fish in your fish tank you should have tetra fish that last for many years to come. You will have the best success with this tetra if you keep a good flow of water and plenty of plants in the fish tank. Regular partial water changes are also needed for a good healthy aquarium.

Emperor Tetra Breeding: To entice the Emperor Tetra to spawn, increase your aquarium water temperature to about 79F or 80F, add some moss to the bottom of the tank, subdue the lighting and make sure the water is somewhat soft. After spawning has occurred, remove the parents so they don't eat the eggs. The fry should hatch in a few days.
