The Armored Catfish spends it
days hiding in the wood or rock decoration of the aquarium. This
is a hearty catfish that can survive in low oxygenated water. It
can take in air from the surface via its highly vascular covered
hind gut.
Armored Catfish
Breeding: Males build a bubble nest in
some debris at the surface off the fish tank. The female lays
her eggs in the nest and they are fertilized and aggressively
guarded by the male.
